A Little Introduction
Hey
everyone! Welcome to my blog. This is my first post since my mission (I have
another blog I posted on before then, but wanted to start fresh). So I am going
to introduce myself a little bit and how I got from my mission to where I am
now. I served in the Taiwan, Taipei mission from June 2013- December 2014. I
came home on New Year’s Eve in 2014, and moved up to school 5 days later. I
lived in what was called the "boy scout house". It was a quirky house
that I LOVED. It was called the "boy scout house" because it kind of
looked like it was built by boy scouts and was a little tilted... I had the
best roommates and we had so much fun. I got back into dating and socializing.
I made some of my best friends those few months and into the summer. I moved
home for the summer and worked at the Parks Department in Centerville. It was a
fun job and I met some more friends. That summer I got closer and closer to my
family. I left for school 5 days after I got home from my mission, so I didn't
get a lot of bonding time with them until that summer. By that point, I was
feeling a little bit hopeless about the whole dating thing. I went on a lot of
dates from when I got home until fall semester, but nothing ever came of it,
and I was feeling super discouraged. So many people were dating and getting
married and I felt stuck (I am sure some of you can relate to that- comparing
yourself to everyone else... bad idea). So as fall semester came some things
happened where I just kind of felt done with dating. As I was kind of down I
had this impression come into my head, "be the kind of person you would want
to marry." At that point I realized that if I wanted to marry someone who
was strong in the gospel, honored his priesthood, is close to God, kind,
patient, loving, etc., then I needed to step up my game as well. I started
working on myself. I also realized that I need to learn to be happy with
myself. Because whether or not I got married, I would always have to live with
myself. So I got to work. And I became so happy. I started trying to put myself
out of my comfort zone and be as social as I could. I was doing so much better
spiritually, mentally, and physically. I was more confident. I felt happy with
myself and who I was. I was okay with what where I was at that point in my
life. And then Seth came along.
My friend Michelle and I were in the TSC going to eat lunch. Well we ran into Seth. To make a long story short he came and ate lunch with us and got both of our numbers at the end. A couple weeks later he called me because I passed him outside the TSC and didn't see him. So I went back and said hi. Then we started texting and hanging out at the 80's dance and game nights. The next week he asked me out and then we started seeing/talking to each other pretty much every day. So then we started dating, and we fell in love, and here we are today! Let's be real for a second, marriage is not ALWAYS pure bliss like it is in the movies. But it is SO worth it! Where would the fun be if everything was always perfect? I wouldn't change anything that has happened. Seth and I have grown so much since we first met, and I am so excited to KEEP growing. This first year has been full of up's and down's and exciting things and some hard things as well. I am so grateful for the strength and help and support we have been able to give each other through the hard times, and I am so grateful for the love, fun, and happiness we have been able to give each other through the good times! And I am so excited for all the years to come with my best friend. We still have a lot to learn, and I'm excited for the adventures to come!
So there is a little bit about us. I am excited to be starting a new blog. So if you're interested in what's going on in our lives, feel free to check back in on my next post!

What a great introduction Megan. I'm so glad you learned to be happy by yourself so that Seth could find you. I am so happy to have you in my life and very happy that you found such a great addition to our family!
